Lectio Divina Lecture

About the Lecture

Join us for our upcoming fall Faith & Culture Lecture this Sunday. Pastor Adam Feichtmann will lecture on Lectio Divina: The Art of Praying Scripture.

Today when Christians read scripture it is common for them to only study the passage with their mind. Reading to study scripture is a wonderful discipline. However, if a Christian only reads scripture to study it, they miss engaging their heart. The practice of Lectio Divina is a method of reading and praying scripture that deepens a person’s personal communion and love with God. It forces an individual or group to slow down, listen well, examine how God’s Word is living, and then to respond to God in prayer and live out the truths of the text.
