Serve In Our County

Redeemer is centrally located in Orange County and desires to love and serve our neighbors well. The county has three pain points which we are trying to intentionally address with our church’s values and culture and by partnering with local organizations already caring for the needs of our neighbors.

  1. Welcoming Our Neighbors

  2. Families & Education

  3. Homelessness & Housing

Welcoming Our Neighbors

Our OC neighbors are lonely and lack meaningful relationships with one another. This is especially true for our neighbors who are over 65 years old. A 2016 study in the county found that “Twenty-two percent of older adults 65 and older in Orange County live alone and may be at risk of social isolation.” Coming out of COVID people of all ages are longing for meaningful relationships and concerned about the negative health implications of loneliness. A 2021 Harvard Magazine article titled “The Loneliness Pandemic” by Jacob Sweet said, “According to the research of Julianne Holt-Lunstad, professor of psychology and neuroscience at Brigham Young University, and colleagues, the heightened risk of mortality from loneliness equals that of smoking 15 cigarettes a day or being an alcoholic and exceeds the health risks associated with obesity.”

Redeemer has a core value of hospitality, and we desire to love and serve our neighbors by welcoming them to our tables (dining tables, cafe tables, park tables, and church table).

If you are interested to learn more about how to make room around your tables and lives to welcome your neighbors, please contact Pastor Adam Feichtmann - contact@redeeemeroc.org

If you live in Costa Mesa, we encourage you to join Love Costa Mesa’s Intentional Neighboring Network.
