You have more power and influence than you realize. Yes, others might have more than you, but don’t let that minimize the significance of the power and position you do have. In preparation for this Sunday spend some time thinking about the areas where you have the greatest influence. Whether large or small, where do you have the ability to shape someone else’s life?
The nature of power is to effect change. The question is what kind of change is our power going to produce - beauty and blessing, or pain and ugliness?
Power can be dangerous. It can so deeply wound those around us and even destroy our own lives. This Sunday we will see in our passage how to use our power to build beauty without hurting those around us and destroying ourselves.
