Redeemer Youth Service Project

On Saturday, 3/19, we will be heading down to San Diego and serving one of our PCA sister churches, Servant Church's community youth outreach, STRONG. STRONG is a ministry that reaches teenagers in the Logan Heights neighborhood providing a safe, fun, and biblically grounded place to engage in relationships with each another.

To serve them, we will be helping organize and put on an Olympic-style competition for the kids at the beach! But, first, we will meet with Pastor Chris Sandoval, walk the neighborhood of Logan Heights and learn more about the community and who Servant Church is truly serving. We will need 12-15 students and 4-5 adults to join us to put this event on. So, please let me know if you, or your students, can attend.

Our itinerary will be as follows:

7:30 AM- Leave Newport Beach and head to South San Diego.

9 AM- Arrive in SD at Servant Church for a neighborhood tour.

10 AM- 5 PM (Noon Break for Lunch)- Head to Cornado Island for Beach Olympics. (Redeemer will be running two events from start to finish!)

5 PM- Beach Bonfire.

6 PM- Head back to Newport.

Ellie Holt, John Dietrich, and I will all be driving down (we can each take four students). If we get several South OC folks coming, we will coordinate a different location to leave from (no need to drive the opposite direction to start the day).

We will also be helping shuttle STRONG'S students to the beach (a 5-minute drive from the church). Having at least one more, two would be ideal, adults joining us to make this run as smoothly as possible would be great! Please let me know if you can join (if you can come for part of the day, you are more than welcome to as well, just let me know).

Just respond to me via email that you, or your students, will be attending. As always, follow all our upcoming events on the Winter calendar at redeemeroc.org/youthcalendar.
