Hi, all!
My name is Elmar Hashimov, and I'm a professor at Biola University. I'm excited to invite you to an upcoming workshop series, "Being Human in a Digital World," exploring how daily interactions with technology affect our overall life and formation. How do our habits in and around technology affect us? How can we be more intentional in our digital lives and cultivate healthy boundaries? How can we grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, as we're constantly surrounded by screens?
This five-part workshop is designed both to help you (and your family) become more thoughtful about tech use in the context of Christian discipleship, as well as to provide an opportunity to contribute some relevant local knowledge to the broader community. The weekly sessions will follow a short book on cultivating a personal values-based technology philosophy (free copies will be provided). Participants will also be invited to contribute to a research project led by the workshop facilitators (more info forthcoming).
There are two workshop "track" options, and you can commit to one of them based on your location and availability:
1. Workshop hosted at Roots Community Church (FLDWRK, 150 Paularino Ave, Costa Mesa) on five consecutive Sundays, April 23–May 21, 1:30–2:45 pm. 2. The same workshop hosted at St. Matthew's Anglican Church (2300 Ford Rd, Newport Beach) on five consecutive Mondays, April 24–May 22, 7:00–8:15 pm. To sign up for this option, please fill out this form.
