As a church, Redeemer OC prayerfully considers which ministries to serve and support. Orange County Rescue Mission/Village of Hope is one of them. The heart of the rescue mission includes the most comprehensive transitional and emergency housing campus in the country called The Village of Hope. With a mission to restore hearts and lives of the homeless, The Village of Hope provides housing for up to 262 ‘students’ who enter into a 2-year program of onsite spiritual and personal development, counseling services, parenting classes, medical and dental care, job training and more. The Village of Hope is a converted military base which occupies 5 acres of land in Tustin. It was opened in March 2008 using only private donations. ‘Barracks’ were converted into appropriate dorm style living to accommodate men, women and families with children. A 288-seat chapel and auditorium were built offering opportunities for worship, workshops, and wholesome entertainment.
The best way to restore lives and hearts is in a place of beauty and peace. The work being done is nothing short of transformational. Their mission is to serve the love of Jesus Christ to the least, the last and the lost.
