We have been fortunate to be able to gather for worship in our current space, Temple Bat Yahm, for twenty years now. Throughout this time, we have seen God do beautiful things for his kingdom in and through our church family. In the short term, nothing is changing. However, in the long term we are convinced that a permanent facility that is present in our community is critical to Redeemer’s future fruitfulness for the Lord. Therefore, we are praying that God would provide a facility of our own, where we can gather for worship and from which we can bless Orange County with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
For the last several years, alongside our prayers, we have been diligently saving and searching for a facility. This has been a helpful experience, but we have not yet been financially prepared to seriously pursue properties of interest. Therefore, in the beginning of 2025, we are taking the following steps so that we will be ready when the right property becomes available.
First, we will proactively be speaking with people that we hope will make a significant contribution to the building fund. We are asking the question: When the right property becomes available, what would you contribute toward a permanent Redeemer facility. Second, with a clearer understanding of our financial capacities, we will work toward pre-approval for a loan (we will explore both commercial and private loans). Would you join with us in the following ways:
1. PRAY: Would you commit to praying boldly for a permanent home for Redeemer? Like an individual buying a home in Orange County, our church faces an unusual challenge in this daunting market. Nevertheless, we are hopeful because we pray to the Lord who has created all things and to whom all things belong. The very one who has not spared his only son, is the one that also delights to provide for and preserve his church. So, let us pray!
2. COMMIT: If you are in a position to significantly contribute to our facilities fund, we want to invite you to converse more fully with us. Would you let us know that you would like to be part of this process? We are not asking for the funds now, but instead, asking for your commitment to contribute when the right property becomes available.
3. PLAN: These first preparatory steps are targeted. However, when the time is right, we will be asking everyone who loves Redeemer to invest, above and beyond their normal giving, in our future home. Many of you have already been contributing. We continue to save these funds, and we want you to know we are so grateful for your love of our church family. For everyone else, would you begin to plan for the day when God provides an opportunity for us to purchase a facility?
