Parenting & Formation in a Digital World

Sundays, May 4th and May 18th

Directly after the worship service (approx. 11:30am - 12:30pm)

You're invited to join us for a two week meaningful conversation on Parenting and Formation in a world where children are often overprotected in the real world yet under-protected online. This special event features David O'Neil, member of Redeemer and Head of School at Pacifica Christian High School as our guest speaker.

David will explore the profound changes in our homes and society over the past few decades, encouraging us to reflect on our approach to parenting with long-term formation in mind. Blending data, storytelling, and practical strategies, the presentation will offer insights on how to nurture your child's emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth in today's hyper-connected, digital landscape. Drawing on the research of Jonathan Haidt (along with others), author of The Anxious Generation and The Coddling of the American Mind, he will address the alarming rise in anxiety, depression, and emotional fragility among today's youth.

You will leave with a few more tools and perspectives to help guide your child's formation with hope in a world increasingly shaped by virtual and digital communities and experiences.
