HOLY WEEK SERVICES

Easter+Tree+med.jpg

Palm Sunday Service Temple Bat Yahm - Morgan Chapel Sunday, April 14, 10:00am

On this day we celebrate the King who rode a donkey, yet acknowledge the pain to come. The service is created to help us enter into Holy Week and prepare for the passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Maundy Thursday Service  Temple Bat Yahm - Morgan Chapel Thursday, April 18, 8:00PM

This is a beautiful and solemn service that will focus your mind and grip your heart. After singing, silence, and a short meditation on a passage of scripture, we take the Lord’s Supper, prayerfully and seated at tables. For many this is one of the most powerful and rich communion experiences. At the conclusion of the service the communion tables are ceremonially stripped and we leave in silence and darkness. Symbolically this darkness and silence is broken with the shout of “He is risen!” at the opening of our Easter worship the following Sunday.

Easter Sunday Service & Celebration Temple Bat Yahm - The Sanctuary Sunday, April 21, 10:00AM

Our Easter service is a rich celebration of joy, where the despair of death feels before the bursting forth of new life. It is the climax of the Church Calendar and great opportunity to invite friends, family, and neighbors to worship and celebrate with us! After the service all are invited to enjoy some light refreshments in the chapel hall and there will be an Easter egg hunt, bounce houses, and activities for the children on the lawn.

If you are interested in volunteering to help with the Easter celebration contact Danielle Smith, danielles@redeemeroc.org.

Lent begins on March 6th, on Ash Wednesday.

What is Lent? The word "Lent" comes from the old English word meaning "lengthen," which is also defined in the word "spring." It is the season in the Church calendar when days lengthen and new life springs forth.

It's a season of 40 days (not counting Sundays) that the Church around the world takes a pilgrimage together and journeys toward the horror of the cross and the joy of Easter. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are central to the Gospel, and the season of Lent helps us prepare accordingly for Good Friday and Easter.

As we journey together from Ash Wednesday to Easter, it is my prayer that we will intentionally anticipate these days, repent from certain sins, and grow in our love of Jesus Christ and others.

Homeless Service Opportunity

Lots Life on the Streets.jpg

Join Hallie and Josh Cooper for a Neighborhood Parish service opportunity in Costa Mesa as they, together with a group of other Redeemer members, provide a breakfast for the homeless in partnership with an organization called LOTS (Living on the Streets). Here are the details from Hallie:

Please join Josh and I as we continue our monthly goal to serve our neighbors and community as we move forward into 2019. I pray these opportunities stir up a desire to serve within the church as well as in our families.  Whether that be at one of our monthly community outreaches or in other unique areas God may be leading you in.

We would love for you to join us at: The Crossing Church DATE: Saturday, Feb 2nd and Saturday, March 2nd TIME: 7:00 am ADDRESS: 2115 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa, CA 92627.

Our group will be providing the meal that will be feeding a minimum of 100 men, women and children. We also have the unique opportunity to help prepare and serve the food to this community and that's where we NEED YOU! Children are welcome.

LOTS provides showers, meals, recovery meetings, clothes and washers and dryers for the individuals who seek any or all of these services EACH SATURDAY! I have been encouraged by what they do and love being a part of a little piece of the project when we go.

Other ways you may serve for both of these outreaches:
1. Donate any clothes and shoes ( any and all sizes )  2. Donate liquid laundry detergent. 3. Donate hygiene toiletries (ex. deodorant, shampoo, tooth brush, tooth paste) 4. Donate funds to go towards breakfast for Feb 2nd and March 2nd.

Please feel free to email or call me with any questions. I love you all and hope to see you there!  halliencooper@gmail.com / 949-310-9728

Call for Children's Ministry Volunteers

Dear families, we are so excited to be starting a new year with each of you! As we look to finish up our 2019 children's ministry schedule, we have many available opportunities remaining for new volunteers and jr. high and high school students to assist in our sermon time classes. Your presence as an assistant not only helps ensure the safety of our children and teachers, but it also speaks loud messages of worth, love, significance, and grace into the lives of our children. The assistant commitment is simply to be present for one, two or three months of the year to assist the lead teacher in either the preschool/kindergarten, 1st-3rd grade, or 4th-5th grade class. There is absolutely no prep work required for our assistants and you are only asked to be out of the service during the 25 minute sermon time. You will receive a reminder email prior to your weeks of assisting, followed by an email each week with the link to the sermon so that you may listen at home. Thank you for considering this! Your participation is priceless and we are praying for each of you. Please contact Amanda Knox to sign up or inquire,  amandak@redeemeroc.org

Gottman Marriage Retreat Workshop Report

Thank you for your prayers and support to make the September (Costa Mesa) and October (Fullerton) workshops happen! We had a great turn out, especially with non-Redeemer couples. Here are some stats:

A total of 110 people attended both of the workshops.
Only 48 of the attendees were apart of the Redeemer community.

62 people (56% of the workshop attendees) came because you invited your neighbors, friends, and family to invest in their marriages (plus, a little social media ads on our part)!

Many of the attendees were non-Christians and some of them are very open to visit Redeemer in the coming weeks and months. Please continue to pray for the couples who attended the workshop and for all marriages and families at Redeemer.

Due to the success of the event, be on the look out for similar events and gathers in 2019.
